Completed an internship during my junior year with the Metropolitan Airports Commission. They had a job opening in the same department after my graduation and hired me full time. What is the best part of your current job?Working in a challenging industry that is always changing. How has your education from the University of North Dakota helped you in your career?My education helped me develop a basic knowledge of the aviation management industry, helped me secure an aviation internship and prepared me for job interviews and public speaking responsibilities. What advice would you have for student in the aviation program today?Successfully complete an internship in aviation. Develop your public speaking and presentation skills because at some point in your career you will need to use them. Have someone proofread your cover letter, resume and job application. Prepare for job interviews by researching the company and the position. Be prepared to tell a prospective employer what you can bring to their organization and why they should hire you over other applicants. Try to keep your GPA up, a bad GPA may show a hiring manager a lack of motivation or dedication. Back to Alumni Success Stories |
