The Odegard School is one of the most technologically equipped colleges on campus. With wireless capability in all facilities, plus a comprehensive suite of audio/visual equipment in the classrooms, information technology is a significant asset to the learning environment and has made a huge contribution to the success of our students.
Because of the importance of this technology, students are expected to provide their own laptops for use in the classroom. A recent survey of instructors indicated that laptops were used in 84% of the aviation classes to conduct learning activities. These might include on-line assessments, block exams, student portfolios, accessing the web for supporting information, and a host of other activities.
High end computing capability is generally not required and laptop specifications may be reviewed on a separate page of this website. Access to Aviation specific software is also available.
AIMS – This software allows students to schedule flights and monitor their course progress. Because an access code is required, students must visit the Help Desk, Clifford Hall, Room 120 for AIMS installation.
AIMS was designed to work best on a PC. In order to get AIMS to work on a MAC, the following additional VMWare software (such as Fusion or Parallel) may be required. Here is the link
